The Cycle Of Lice
Did you know that a typical lice infestation can involve anywhere from 10 to 100 live lice on your head at any time? A female louse can lay 6 to 8 eggs per day. The eggs or nits hatch in only 7-10 days. Once those baby lice hatch, it only takes about 7-10 days for those lice to be mature enough to mate and lay eggs as well! With lice reproducing so quickly, even a few bugs can escalate into a full-blown infestation if not treated immediately.
It's important to remember lice is extremely common and nothing to be embarrassed about. Where there are kids, there is lice and lice don't care if your hair is dirty—in fact they prefer a clean scalp without product. The key is addressing the issue as soon as possible to prevent it from getting worse.
Tip: Treat the infestation quickly and thoroughly. Use all-natural lice treatments as directed, and comb through hair to remove all nits (lice eggs). Acting early can stop the spread.
